Evergreen 2018-2020 (Ongoing)

Evergreen, reveals an illusory, multi-layered system. Seemingly, we are looking at a classic series of still life. But something interferes with the familiar and well-known not quite in accordance with accepted premises.... These are not studio photographs; these were done outdoors. And what is this outdoors?

These photographs have been made in a cemetery.
A stretched fabric is placed behind the grave, creating its new colorful background, utilizing natural light only. By creating vanitas photographs in the realm of death, I turn the metaphor back to the real. It is a symbol of decline, of time past, a memento mori.
